Rawalpindi is located in Punjab Pakistan it is a big city and connected with capital of Pakistan. Population there is growing day by day therefore there was need of quality education with independent board there. Therefore in 1977 Rawalpindi board of intermediate and secondary education is formed it was established in October 1977 and it was formed under the Punjab board of secondary education ACT NO XIII of 1976. This board is spread so vast on large area it jurisdiction consist of following districts areas districts Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum and Rawalpindi that is civil division of district.

Main objective of the board is to conduct examination for 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th class examination and at the end of board it provides students with certificates and result. Board uses books of Punjab text book board and these books are revised time to time. Examination is conducted in different languages Urdu, English and other classical languages. Many government and private schools are affiliated with the board and these work under the board. Punjab education commission was established in the year 2005 and it is responsible for conducting examination for 5th and 8th class and controlling them.

Registration of 12th class examination start in the month of January and these forms are provided online and also posted to the affiliated colleges. After it examinations are conducted in the month of April and May after that many million students wait for results, results are calculated and announced in the month of July and August students who to in examination are also provided with scholarships.
