Its educational board is named as board of intermediate and secondary education Rawalpindi that is abbreviated as BISE Rawalpindi. This board was established in the year 1977 in the month of October 1977 that plan was under Punjab board of secondary education ACT NO XIII of 1976. Rawalpindi board was formed as bifurcation of Sargodha board.

This board is controlling and conducting examination for many classes main objective of the board is to conduct examination for 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th and intermediate that is 11 and 12th class examination. Punjab education commission that is PEC it was formed in the year 2005 under Punjab government it has its main objective of controlling and monitoring examination for 5th and 8th class. Jurisdiction of Rawalpindi board consist of following jurisdiction those consist of following districts Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum and Rawalpindi that is civil division of district. Board conducts examination in various languages main are Urdu, English and other classical languages. Many public and private schools are affiliated with the board.

Matric is divided into two parts that is matric part I and part II part I is 9th class and part II in 10th class. Part II examinations are conducted in the month of March and April. Registration for examination start from the month of January and registration fee is not so high it is affordable by all people. Roll number slips with date sheets are provided after registration that is in the month of February. This year also examinations were conducted in the month of March and February. Now many million students are waiting for results these are supposed to be announced in the month of July or august but no exact date is announced this result will be declared on official website.
